October 18th marked our Season Debut Performance. This program reflected the heart of who we are as a company: rooted in the traditions of classical ballet while embracing the creativity of neoclassical movement. Modern Motions and Romantic Reveries presented three contrasting works: The Four Seasons, Night Fall, and Les Sylphides. Together, these works honored the timeless artistry of ballet and reveal its power to evolve, inspire, and connect across generations.
We stared the evening off with a Meet and Greet and Curtain Rising Ceremony were Co Founders Heather and Lauren gave speeches with a champagne toast and cut the ribbon on the debut peroamnce of the 2025/2026 Season!
The Four Seasons
An original ballet created by choreographer and Executive Director Lauren Birnbaum, The Four Seasons brings a fresh perspective to classical ballet. Set to the music of Vivaldi's Four Seasons the entire ballet from costumes, to choreography, to dancers will be visually treat for the audience.
When asked for a few words about the ballet Lauren shares “I think I’m the most excited about the music for it and how it comes alive through the dancers. The score just takes you on such a journey and it was really fun to create movement and give meaning to it. Each season has its own identity, evoking different emotions and ideas but I tried to tie them together choreographically to represent the cyclical nature of the seasons.”
Night Fall
This contemporary ballet piece, also choreographed by Lauren Birnbaum features the Coastal Ballet of Florida Trainees.
Night Fall explores concepts of darkness, dreams, and the other realm that exists when light fades.
Les Sylphides
A true classic, Les Sylphides is famous for being a ballet without a narrative or plot, it captures the essence of pure classical expression — a timeless evocation of beauty, grace, and longing.
Presenting this ballet in our first full-length season reflects our commitment to preserving the classical tradition while celebrating its enduring elegance and emotional depth.
We are thrilled to announce that Coastal Ballet of Florida Is Now Officially a 501(c)(3)!
We are excited to share an exciting update — Coastal Ballet of Florida is now officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization!
While we’ve been operating as a nonprofit from the beginning, this means that we are now fully tax-exempt under federal law — and that all donations made to Coastal Ballet of Florida are tax-deductible.
This is such a milestone for us, representing not only months of dedicated work behind the scenes but also the incredible support we’ve received from our growing community. Achieving 501(c)(3) status officially recognizes our commitment to advancing classical ballet in the Tampa Bay area and beyond. It allows us to expand our artistic programming, create more opportunities for dancers, and deepen our outreach within the community.
We’re profoundly grateful to everyone who has believed in our vision from day one — our dancers, donors, families, and audiences. This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to see how Coastal Ballet of Florida continues to grow!
