Coastal Ballet of Florida’s Trainee Program provides young aspiring dancers from across Tampa Bay with the opportunity to refine their skills through intensive training and immerse themselves in the art of classical ballet!

Our Trainees receive high-quality instruction designed to develop both their technical and artistic skills. The curriculum includes foundational ballet technique, pointe work, variations, Progressing Ballet Technique, as well as masterclasses in Pas de Deux, contemporary movement and more.

Throughout the season, Trainees have multiple performance opportunities alongside the professional company in major productions. These experiences allow them to grow as artists, refine their stage presence, and prepare for future careers in professional ballet companies or collegiate dance programs. In addition, Trainees can participate in masterclasses, ballet competitions, outreach performances, and other special events, further enriching their education and broadening their understanding of the art form.
What Sets Coastal Ballet of Florida’s Training Program Apart?
Coastal Ballet’s training program is unique in its inclusivity, welcoming intermediate to advanced dancers from various studios across the Tampa Bay community who are seeking additional, high-level training. To be eligible for our Trainee Program, dancers are required to take a minimum of two 1.5-hour ballet technique classes and two pointe classes weekly to maintain a strong technical foundation, in addition to our program.
How do I become a Trainee?
Trainees should be at least 13 years old by the fall and possess a strong technical foundation in ballet and pointe work, including two full years of pointe work.
