

Charles Java
Originally from Fairport NY, Charles Java began his dance studies at the Fitzsimmons Dance Factory with Lauri Meyer Lucas. He holds a BFA in Dance Performance from Towson University where his studies continued under the director of Dennis Price and Catherine Horta-Hayden, among others.
Performing many classical, modern, and contemporary roles, his repertoire includes the Cavalier and Snow King in The Nutcracker, the King of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland, Franz in Coppélia, Oberon in Midsummer Night’s Dream, Dougala by Geoffrey Holder, Blue ‘n’ Gold by Stephen Greenston, Airs by Paul Taylor, Nine Love Songs and a Bucket of Tears by Juan Carlos Rincones, and Frame by Frame by Yanis Pikieris Charles has performed with Bowen McCauley Dance, Nicholas Andre Dance Theater, Le Troupe Liddell, Jazz Choreography Enterprises, and Tampa Ballet Theatre. He has performed internationally in Mexico and Germany as well as at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, Manhattan Movement & Arts Center, Dance Theatre Workshop, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Charles also had the pleasure of performing as the Beast in the STEPS School of Dance production of Beauty & the Beast. He is delighted to return for a second season with Coastal Ballet Florida.
